Who is eligible for plan management funding?

Every participant who receives NDIS funding may request to have their plan managed by a plan manager. This means that every participant may also request to have funding allocated specifically for plan management. For the vast majority of NDIS participants, this funding would already be allocated.

If your plan is not already plan managed, you can contact your local area coordinator (LAC) or the NDIS on 1800 800 110 to request plan management funding.

In the rare circumstance that your situation does fall into one of the following, then you should speak with your LAC or support coordinator as you may not be eligible for plan management funding:

  • There are specific conditions outlined about how your plan can be managed including any explicit wording about not being eligible for plan management funding.
  • You or your specified plan nominee is insolvent under administration.
  • There is a significant risk to the participant of financial, physical or mental harm. In this situation, the NDIS may restrict the options of how an NDIS participant’s plan may be managed. Each support available to a participant would be considered individually in this regard.

Remember that the above points are exceptional circumstances and only apply to a small number of participants. If you find yourself in one of these circumstances, it may still be possible to have all or part of your NDIS funds plan managed.
